Dorothy Rae Campbell, 81, of Wooster, died Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at LifeCare Hospice.
Friends may call Sunday September 9, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m at the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church, 5100 Cleveland Rd Wooster, 44691. Dorothy was born August 28, 1937 in Nassawadox, VA to Norman and Florence {Landon} Peppler.
She married Ray Campbell in 1970. He passed away previously.
Dorothy worked at Gearhart’s Bakery, then at Wooster Community Hospital, until her retirement. She attended the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church in Wooster. She was known for her love of people, and spent time later in life at the Salvation Army of Wooster Senior Center, making lots of friends. She loved to travel, especially back to her hometown in Virginia, and to visit the ocean. She was a selfless and humble “rock” for the people who loved her.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by her children JoAnn (Steven) Carpenter of Wooster, Norma (Randy) Smith of Orrville, Loretta Rexrode of Wooster, Margie (Jack) Wheat of Phoenix, AZ, Brenda (John) Keller of Orange, VA; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sister Laurie Michener.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, sons Larry Wiley and Sherman Wiley, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.
