James L. Leatherman, 74, of Seville, ornery as ever, stubborn to the very end, constantly threatening to haunt us when gone, passed away early Saturday morning, January 27, 2024, at The Village of St. Edward, in Fairlawn.
James was born August 16, 1949, in Lodi, Ohio to Elvin and Ruth {Perkins} Leatherman.
He married Cynthia Hardy on June 16, 1978.
James worked as a linemen for Carlisle Brake and Friction for 48 years before retiring. He loved to have fun, being outside, taking care of animals in the backyard. He was known for bringing home stray animals.
James will be deeply missed by his wife of 44 years; children Sarah (Joe), Jennifer (Phil), and Anna (Bob); grandchildren Cole, Aiden, and Belle; brothers David, Daniel, Philip, and Paul; sister Becky; nieces and nephew.
James was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary, Elizabeth, and Alice.
A Memorial Service will be Friday at 11 at Roberts Funeral Home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/James-Leatherman).
