Margaret Ann “Peggy” Hackett, 84, of Wooster, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2019 surrounded by her children & dog at Smithville Western Care Center.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 12 at 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Inurnment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.

Peggy was born April 24, 1935 in Akron, the daughter of Robert H. and Vesta I. {Slabaugh} Greathouse.
She married Nelson “Bill” Hackett on February 18, 1956.
She was a librarian at the Wayne County Library and had also worked at The Daily Record as well as Ohio Edison in Wadsworth.
A great lover of animals and nature, Peggy was also a Room Mother, Den Mother, Brownie, Junior & Cadette Girl Scout leader & Music Parent. Sharing a passion for travel with devoted husband, Bill, she journeyed with her family throughout the United States, Canada, Great Britain & Western Europe. She enjoyed photography both at home and abroad, entering her award-winning photographs into the Wayne County Fair.
Surviving are her children David (Debbie) Hackett of Wooster, Carolyn (Andy Woodson) Hackett of Columbus; sister-in-law Dilys (Ted) Batkin of California; nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend Ben (Adrienne) Byo.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Bill and sister Jeanne.
