Alice Jean Duell, 84, of Wooster, died February 22, 2015 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Alice was born September 13, 1930 in Mannington, WV to Edward and Marie {Hayes} Jones.
She married George L. Duell on September 27, 1957.
Alice worked at Ohio State University in the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center for 14 years. She loved spending time with her family and working on puzzles with her grandchildren.
Alice will be deeply missed by her children Elizabeth (Jody) Gerber of Dalton and Jean (Bruce) Houston of Lodi; grandchildren George E. (Stephanie) Duell, Tony (Angie) Kirk and Ashley Kirk; great-grandchildren Tessa, Logan and Alexa Duell, Jonathan, Brooke, Kayla, Beth, Zachery and Andrew. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, George of 56 years. The family would like to thank the friends and staff of the Oaks of Shady Lawn and the staff of Wooster Community Hospital for their care and support.
