Alverda Mae Bowers, 88, of Wooster, died Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Danbury Woods.
Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is assisting the family. Memorial services will be Tuesday at 7 pm at Northview Alliance Church with Pastor Ray Pfahler officiating. Alverda was born May 4, 1932 in Orrville, Ohio to Paul and Martha {Steiner} Steiner.
She graduated from Old Washington High School. She then attended Simpson Bible College in Seattle, WA.
She married Wilbur Bowers on December 29, 1955.
She was a member of Northview Alliance Church. Alverda was active throughout her life. She volunteered at People to People, enjoyed cooking for children’s camps, and was a member of Plain Township homemakers. She was also active in several bible study groups.
Alverda will be deeply missed by her husband; children Randy (Michele) Bowers of Wooster, Bonnie (Greg) Smith of Greenfield, IN; grandchildren Dan (Mary) and David Bowers, Aaron, Rachel, and Micah Smith; great-grandchildren Kelly and Katie Bowers; sisters Bessie (Gordon) Taillon, Agnes (Herb) Toenjes.
Alverda was preceded in death by her parents.
