Alvin DeVore

Alvin C. DeVore, 90, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Crystal Care, in Mansfield.

Alvin was born January 22, 1931, in Pliny, WV to Alva and Sylvia {Garvin} DeVore.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Alvin worked at Midwest Aircraft in Mansfield for many years.  He was a member of the VFW, AMVETS, the American Legion.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid bowler, and enjoyed camping with his family.

Alvin will be deeply missed by his children Becky Morehouse of Brunswick, GA, Laura (Lee) Zeigler of Polk, John DeVore of Central City, Iowa, and David DeVore of Mt Vernon; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Alvin was preceded in death by his son Alvin DeVore Jr. and daughter Melody DeVore.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 am Oak Grove Memorial Park, 4108 St. Rt. 42 S, Lexington where military rites will be held.  Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland is assisting with arrangements.   Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
