Amy Williamson

Amy J. Williamson, 67, of Wooster, died Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Wooster Community Hospital.

Services will be Saturday, November 6 at 11 am at Zion Lutheran Church.  Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is assisting with arrangements.  Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.   Memorial contributions may be made to Whit’s End Community Place; an organization supporting cancer patients and their families at all stages. Amy was born August 27, 1954, in Wooster to David and Betty {Wile} Doty.  She graduated from Wooster High School in 1972.

She married Steve Williamson on August 26, 1978.  He survives. Their only child, Jennie, was born in 1980.

Amy worked for most of her life as a Pharmacy Technician at both Giffin Prescription Center and Maurer Pharmacy, and later was a barista at Tulipan Hungarian Pastry and Coffee Shop. She was a devout member of Zion Lutheran Church her entire life, and loved spending time with the parishioners and listening to the organ music and choir. She enjoyed doing puzzles, painting, and sitting in her garden, ornamenting the space with sun catchers and decorative watering cans. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.  She would often begin her day at 6am talking with her friends on the phone, and sending messages through social media. Her biggest joy in life was being surrounded by those she loved – her husband, her daughter, her grandchildren, her large tight-knit family, and her many dear friends.

Amy will be deeply missed by her husband, Steve; daughter Jennie (Tr) Hileman of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren Josie and Charlie Hileman; brothers Ted (Gloria) Doty of Wooster, David (Blanche) Doty II of Pawpaw, MI; and sister Barbara (Bill) Buchwalter of Wooster; and dozens of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents.
