Andrea K Gantz

Andrea Kaye Gantz, 54, of Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, June 5, at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark, Ohio

Andrea was born January 3, 1969, in Mansfield, OH to John and Karen {Weekley} Nordyke.

Andrea graduated from Mount Vernon High School and the Knox County Joint Vocational Center.  Later she earned an associate degree from the University of Pheonix in health care administration. 

She married Melvin L. Gantz Jr on July 20^th, 1991. 

Working in health care most of her life she worked for Hospice for 3 years.  She attended Covenant Christian and enjoyed camping and watching Grey’s Anatomy.  She loved animals and caring for children. 

Andrea will be deeply missed by her husband; two daughters, Naomi (Brandon) Gantz and Amy Gantz; her mother; and brother, Bryan Nordyke, brother-in-law Lonnie (Kim) Ferrell, sister-in-law Karissa (Luke) Fowler, extended family Maria (Amanda) Hester.

Andrea was preceded in death by her father, her brother Kevin Nordyke, and a deeply loved dog, Bear. 

Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Dave Matos officiating.  Burial will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.  Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com
