Anna Rowene Wagner went peacefully to be with our Lord September 27, 2014 in the Triangle area, North Carolina. She was born August 7, 1926 in a farmhouse just outside Creston, Ohio as the first of two children of Allen L Tromp and Zerlene Easterday Tromp. They are deceased. Her brother, Leslie A. Tromp resides in New Carlisle, Ohio.
Rowene, as she was known by her family and friends, was valedictorian of Seville (Ohio) High School, Class of 1944. Following graduation, she worked for several years as the executive assistant to the president of a large corporation. After marriage, she devoted her life to her husband and children. She also spent countless volunteer hours serving numerous organizations. She served as president of the Parent Teachers Association of Warren Elementary School, Marietta, Ohio. After many years of outstanding dedication to the PTA, Rowene was awarded an honorary life membership by the organization. She served as president of the Christian Women's Club, secretary for the Pioneer Ladies Civitan and as a driver for Meals on Wheels organizations, all in Marietta. She also was a volunteer for many years at Dawes Arboretum, Newark, Ohio.
Her Christian faith was an important part of her life. She was a faithful servant in many roles over the years. She loved to help others and always greeted everyone with a warm smile. Her first church home was the United Methodist Church, Seville, Ohio. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women at several churches over the years. She was a long-time member of the Evergreen Bible Church, Marietta, Ohio. In 2006, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and transferred her church membership to Asbury United Methodist Church.
In 1949, she married Royce R. Wagner and they enjoyed their lives together until 1984 when he passed away. She was a devoted and very loving mother to their four children, Cheryl, Kevin, Diane and Denise. She is survived by Cheryl and her husband Clyde Wootton of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kevin Wagner and his wife Peggy of Raleigh, North Carolina, Diane and her husband Tom Johnson of Williamstown, West Virginia and Denise and her husband David Dacar of New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
She was blessed with three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who all adored her. She is survived by DeJaya Wootton Soltys, her husband Stephen and their son, Zachary (Raleigh, NC). She is also survived by Melanie Johnson Dye and her daughters, Keira and Zoe (Williamstown, WV). She was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Johnson. She is also survived by several nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Dickey Lake Bible Camp, PO Box 11, Trego, MT 59934. Services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home Saturday Oct. 4'"•27880 State Route 7 Marietta, Ohio.
Viewing will be from 2:30 until 3:30 and Funeral Service will be at 3:45 with finishing at East Lawn Memorial Park in Marietta.
