Barbara P. Howell, 80, of Shreve, died Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Aultman Hospital, in Canton.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 1379 Dublin Rd, Columbus, OH 43215.
Barbara was born September 16, 1935 in Wheeling, WV to Wallace S. and Elizabeth N. {Sterla} Matz.
She married George A. Howell on November 4, 1953. He passed away on April 25, 2005.
Barbara worked at Frito Lay, Rubbermaid, and then retired from Buehler's in 2007. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Big Prairie. Barbara enjoyed bowling, crocheting, playing euchre and her word search puzzles. She loved spending time with family and her puppy, Peanut.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her children Randy (Lori) Howell of Shreve and Roxanne (Ron) Croskey of Dalton; grandchildren Chadd, Nicole, Katie, Brandie, R.J., Tiffany, Stephanie, Brandon and Braden; great-grandchildren Courtney, Blake, Korben, Bella, Liyah, Brianna, Jack, Alexis, Abbey, Bane, Emi and Sunnie; brother Ron (Frances) Matz of Silverdale, WA; sisters Patty (Bernie) Wharton of Surfside Beach, SC; many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, a son Richard Howell, brother Lewis Matz.
