Beatrice Gingery Rubeck, 95, of Brethren Care Village in Ashland, Ohio died Sunday, December 05, 2010, at the Wooster Community Hospital. She was born on June 22, 1915 in Brecksville, Ohio, to David and Bessie (Wiltshire) Evans.Bea taught in Ohio schools after graduation from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, class of 1936.
Bea was a member of Pearl Road United Methodist Church in Cleveland, Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, and Ohio Retired Teachers Association, Ashland Chapter.She enjoyed visits with her loving family and many friends, travel, reading, word games, playing cards and playing piano.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Roy (Judi) Gingery of Wooster, Ohio, Ralph Gingery of Alexandria, Virginia, and James (Corliss) Gingery of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, step-daughters Jane (Michael) Wachaya of Pickerington, Ohio, and Kathleen (Don) Occhiuzzi of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Doris Evans and Dorothy Swaffield Zelenka, brother Raymond Evans, first husband Orley Gingery in 1965, second husband George Rubeck in 2007, and stepson James Rubeck.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Pearl Road United Methodist Church, 4200 Pearl Rd., Cleveland, OH44109 with Rev. Paul Wilson officiating.Interment will be at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, Cleveland. Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is handling arrangements.Online tributes may be made at
