Bertha “Bea” Louise Regester, 89, of Brunswick, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday morning December 11, 2021 at Mount Alverna Village, in Parma.
Bertha was born February 6, 1932 in Jacobsburg, Ohio to Samuel Warner and Ella Victoria {Davis} Van Dyne.
Bertha married Mitchell Martin in July of 1957. He passed away in 1974. Later she married George Regester in May of 1979. George passed away earlier this year.
Bea enjoyed life, family, and friends. Over the years, she was a cashier, Avon Lady, dry cleaner, and factory worker while lovingly performing the duties of a wife and mother. Bea was a den mother for the cub scouts and an exceptional country cook. Canning green beans from the backyard garden was a regular kitchen event. Earlier in her life, Bea enjoyed playing softball and bowling. Later, fishing, boating, and camping became her outings of choice. Relaxing on the back porch however was by far her favorite pastime.
Bea was a devout Christian. She loved to attend church, rarely missing a service. She served Christ by visiting the sick in hospitals and nursing homes, running a food pantry, preparing meals for shut-ins and praying faithfully for loved ones. Gospel music and old-fashioned sings were among her favorites. Bea was a warm and generous soul.
Bea will be deeply missed by her sons Mitch (Gayle) Martin, Thomas (Ginger) Martin; grandchildren Ashley, Tyler (Katrina), and Samantha Martin, Cathleen (Joshua) Kahle; great-grandchildren Madison, Hadley, Jaxson, Miles and Cooper; siblings Gloria and Fred Van Dyne.
Bertha’s first husband Mitchell Mike Martin, USN WWII veteran and her second husband George Edward Register, USN WWII veteran, preceded her in death along with her parents and many siblings.
