Bess Wheeler Gerber, 80, of Wooster, went to be with the Lord April 24, 2014 at Danbury Wooster Assisted Living Community surrounded by her family.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Private graveside services will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Bess was born August 9, 1933 in Clinton, Ohio to George and Isabel {Tatgenhorst} Shane.
She married Robert Wheeler in 1952. He passed away April 17, 1993.
She married Lester Gerber on November 16, 1995.
She worked for Rubbermaid for 25 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her cats and dogs.
Bess will be deeply missed by her husband, Lester, of 19 years; children Judy (Jerry) Schlabach of Smithville, Michael (Pauline) Wheeler of Washington; grandchildren Jessica (Chad) Baker of Wadsworth, Jaimie (Corey) Thomas of Orrville, Ian Wheeler of Washington, and Mike Wheeler of Missouri; 2 great-grandchildren; sister Dorothy Howell of Wooster.
Bess was preceded in death by her first husband Robert, brothers William Shane and Pete Moore and sisters Virginia Breitenstine and Gladys Dunfee.
