Bette Lou Tarleton, 77, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic, after fighting a long and courageous battle.
Services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Eric and Kirk Fairhurst officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the West View Healthy Living for the Chaplain C and Life Enrichment Program at 1715 Mechanicsburg Rd, Wooster, OH 44691.
Bette was born September 11, 1938 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to W. Woodrow and Thelma Elizabeth {Holloway} Wilson.
She graduated from Southwest Greensburg High School.
Bette married Bruno Peterinelli in 1958. He survives. She then married Harry Tarleton in 1970. He passed away on February 25, 1990.
She worked at United Telephone Company and Fair Finance. Bette was very strong in her faith; she never missed a church service at West View Healthy Living. While at West View, she participated in the bell choir, various committees and bible study groups. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, figuring out word searches, crosswords, and was well known for excelling in trivia contests. Bette loved playing Wii with her best friend, Jeanie Chapman, every night.
Bette will be deeply missed by her daughters Carolyn Aukerman of Wooster and Christie (Jeff) Troutman of Shreve; grandchildren Harmony (Mike) Coolbaugh, Tami Timmons, Erin (Devin) Kornhaus, Eric (Danielle) Aukerman, Jamie (Zac) Poore, Brianna (Josh) Hinkle, Chantalle (Tim) Kurtz, Rachelle (Brandon) Ogden, Stephen Aukerman, Kelsey Aukerman and Brian Aukerman; twenty-two great-grandchildren; sister Nancy Dougherty of MA.
Bette was preceded in death by her father, her husband, and two infant sons.
