Blake A. Swartz, 96, of Wooster, died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Glendora Health Care Center.
Services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Bill Ely officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Chippewa Church of the Brethren at 10230 N. Honeytown Rd, Creston, OH 44217.
Blake was born November 4, 1921 in Burbank to Austin Andrew and Grace Pearl {Repp} Swartz.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He married Florence L. Shriver on January 19, 1947. She passed away on January 3, 2013.
Blake was a farmer and then he retired from The College of Wooster. He was a member of Chippewa Church of the Brethren. Blake loved spending time building trains and it was his favorite hobby.
Blake will be deeply missed by his daughter Nancy E. (Jerry) Hartman; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Kyle (Julia) Swartz of Dalton.
Blake was preceded in death by his wife, son Richard L. Swartz, brothers Elno, Warren and Lyle Swartz, sisters Maude Esselburn and Amanda Millard.
