Carl Edgar Ankrom

Carl Edgar Ankrom, 84, of Sullivan, died January 8, 2025 at UH Samaritan Medical Center, in Ashland.

Carl was born October 6, 1940 in Clarksburg, WV to Cecil Ernie and Ethel Ruth {Hobert} Ankrom. He was raised by Edgar and Clarsie McElwain

Carl served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969.

He married Eileen Garrett on March 6, 1966. 

Carl worked for US Steel in Lorain for over 30 years. He was a member of the Sullivan Church of the Nazarene. Carl enjoyed working on and showing off his ‘88 Mustang GT.

Carl will be deeply missed by his wife Eileen; son Carl Ankrom II of Sullivan; daughter Cynthia Liss of Ashland; granddaughters Shelby Liss of Fitchville and Chey Anne Liss of Fitchville; great-grandson Thaddeus; brother Walt McElwain of PK, WV; and sister Louise Evens of Lost Creek, WV.

Carl was preceded in death by his sisters Lena Hardway, Sharon Grega, Shirley Gentil, and brother Jack McElwain.
