Caroll was born June 22, 1944 in Coffee Grove, Essequibo, Guyana to McEwan and Doreen {Burnett} Nedd.
Caroll, also known as ‘Pastor Mason’, was Pastor of the Jesus Disciples’ Mission (JDM) Assembly Church in Linden, Guyana. Pastor Mason graduated from the Nazarene Training College in Trinidad and Tobago in 1964 after completion of a “Christian Service Program”. There she met her future husband and life partner, Mr. Oscar Stephen Mason, who was also studying to enter ministry.
Caroll and Oscar married on November 9, 1968 and together have one son, Nkosi H. Mason, M.D.
Caroll served as Pastor’s wife in the Church of the Nazarene until 1972, ultimately becoming a pastor herself of the JDM Church in 1993.
Pastor Mason’s life was one dedicated to one thing: serving her Lord. Everyone who knew or met her, even if only briefly, felt touched by her laughter, her love, her compassion and her mission, which was to win souls for Christ. Caroll will be deeply missed by her husband, Oscar; son, Nkosi (Summer) of Wooster, Ohio; sisters Norma (Frank) Reid of Brooklyn, New York; Cherry Bryant, Joan Nedd and brothers Aubrey and Shellman Nedd, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Caroll was preceded in death by her brothers Patrick and Derek Nedd. Her passing is also mourned by the Holmes Family, the Vanier (Keith and Gavin) families; members of the Second Baptist Church of Wooster, OH; the entire JDM congregation, including close friends “Sisters” (in Christ) Arlene, Zenan, Henrietta, Marcia and Donna, and so many others whose lives have been blessed by this cherished soul. May she finally find rest in the arms of Jesus, her Savior.
