Carter Elvin Steel, 82, of Ashland, died March 10, 2025 at Brethren Care Health Care Center, in Ashland, Ohio.
Carter was born September 10, 1942 in Shelby, Ohio to Elvin and Priscilla {Scites} Steel. Following Priscilla’s passing, Garnet Steel was a very important person in his life.
Carter attended Business college where he studied accounting.
He married Jane Fulk-Steel on September 30, 1967.
Carter was a truck driver for Archway Cookie for most of his career, his last job was for Central Ohio Industrial Park in Shelby, Ohio. Carter also was a member of the volunteer fire department in Savannah for many years. He also was a member of the Savannah United Methodist Church. Carter had an avid love for gardening, country music and his grandkids and the family dogs.
Carter will be deeply missed by his daughter Kim Steel; grandchildren Kai, Kolton; sister Garnet (Dave) Hoover; nieces Amy Smith, Cyndi Lago, Susan Rorabaugh, Kathy Greenich, Crystal Browning, Logan Fahey; nephew Jon Fulk, Chad Bright; sisters-in-law Linda (Jim) Fulk; brother-in-law Kevin (Nancy) Bright and many great nieces and nephews.
Carter was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Friends may call Tuesday March 18, 2025 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Savannah United Methodist Church at 10 W Main St, Savannah, OH 44874 . Funeral services will follow at with Pastor Lori Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
