Cecil R. Murphy, 76, of Wooster, died December 17, 2016 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.
Cecil was born April 14, 1940 in Clay County WV, to Cecil E. and Icy Faye {Justice} Murphy, and was raised by his father and Barbara Murphy.
He served in the US Navy from 1959 to 1963 as a damage control specialist.
He worked for Rubbermaid for 15 years. He loved to read and construct model trains and boats.
Cecil will be deeply missed by his children Lorie Paratto of Madison, Wendy (Jim) Yungen of Orrville, Stephen (Jennifer) Murphy of Shreve, Nathan (Cheryl) Murphy of Wooster; grandchildren Kaetlyn Paratto, Kevin Calame, Cohl Yungen, Joshua Wilson, Alex Murphy, Reiley Murphy; great-grandson Beau Calame; 3 brothers; 2 sisters.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents and significant other Mildred Miller.
