Charles Elden Ashley, 91, of Seville, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Lutheran Village of Ashland.
Charles was born July 20, 1925 in Dink, West Virginia to Owen and Anna {Hyer} Ashley.
Elden served in the United States Navy during WWII.
He married Lula Tanner on November 5, 1949. She passed away on August 9, 2002.
Elden worked for the Ford Motor Company and retired from there on June 1, 1985. He belonged to the Advent Christian Church in Creston. Elden was a handy man, always fixing and building things for his family and others. He also enjoyed listening to bluegrass and Gospel music.
Elden will be deeply missed by his daughters Rosemary (Don) Morrison of Shiloh, Diane (David) Walter of Akron; grandchildren Jennifer Nestor, Elissa Bowser, Kimberly Headings, Erik Morrison, Rebecca Fleming, Erianne Hawley, Ethan Morrison, Zachary Ashley; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Halcie Palm, Nell Starcher, and Myrtle Campbell.
Elden was preceded in death by his wife, son Wayne Ashley and sister Helen Lambey.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 12 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Wadsworth with Pastor Ethan Morrison officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 10 to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.
