Cheryl Helene Ralston

Cheryl Helene Ralston, 72, of Smithville, died August 22, 2024 at Ohio’s LifeCare Hospice, in Wooster, Ohio.

Cheryl was born December 22, 1951 in Fostoria, Ohio to William and Doris {Hoffman} Rice.

She was married to William Ralston for over 30 years. 

Cheryl worked at Community Action Wayne/Medina in the head start program for many years until her retirement in 2017. Cheryl was a passionate child advocate and enjoyed working with families and children. She was a Yooper at heart spending her childhood in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Cheryl loved lighthouses, reading and tending to her garden. She was very proud of her Finnish heritage, and embraced the concept of sisu. 

Cheryl will be deeply missed by her children John (Elise) Mollohan, Joy Workman, Jason (Meghan) Mollohan, Jeremy Ralston, Bob Ralston, Tammy Ralston, Jennifer Ralston; grandchildren Jacob (Marissa) Mollohan, Tony (Rebecca) Mollohan, Kyley (Chase) Findley, Justin (Mariah) Workman, Marla, Jonah and Emma Workman, Thomas and Alice Mollohan, Jarrius Riblet, Helena Ralston; great-grandchildren Finn and Anya Mollohan, Jayden Workman.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; husband William and brother Byron.

Friends may call Tuesday August 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
