Clarence "Ben" Kaufman, 72, of Smithville, died Wednesday at LifeCare Hospice, in Wooster.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 am at Parkview Christian Church with Pastor Brian White officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Kaufman family to assist in the funeral expenses.
Ben Kaufman was born May 1, 1943 in Wooster, OH to Elzie Thomas and Thelma Gertrude {Adams} Kaufman.
He married Patsy Campbell on May 13, 1960.
Through out his life he worked a variety of hourly and management jobs in the area. Ben was an active member in the Parkview Christian Church in Wooster. Ben`s interests were shooting, sports, and history. He was a leader in The Boy Scouts of America, and retired from the District Commissoner's Staff. He was an active member of the NRA. Ben loved to read. He was a jovial, happy man, with a keen sense of humor and a love for Jesus.
Ben is survived by wife Patsy; sons Ray Kaufman, of Shingle Springs, CA, Tim Kaufman, of Georgia; granddaughters Sasha Johnson, Debra Lee; great-granddaughter Rowan.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents, and brother George Ray Kaufman, sister Judith M. Lehman.
