Clifford A. “Kip” Martin, 80, of Wooster, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Smithville Western Care Center after a period of declining health.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will follow at 6 pm at the funeral home with Rev. J. Alexander officiating. Kip was born May 27, 1937 in Wooster, Ohio to Clifford Curtis and Laura {Stopps}Martin. He graduated from Wooster High School in 1955. He married Mary Ruth Muller on July 19, 1959. She died March 11, 2012.
Kip was an over the road semi-truck driver; prior to his retirement, he drove for Frito-Lay, Ashland Oil, and Consolidated Freightways. Following retirement, Kip was a van driver for the Wooster Community Hospital.
He was a member of the Central Christian Church. Kip enjoyed his mowing hobby: "Kip's Custom Mowing", a tractor business he started as a young man, and spending time at the family cabin in Loudonville on the Mohican River.
Kip will be deeply missed by his daughters Robin (Lennie) Foxx of Irving, TX, Tammy (Dave) Wright of Dover, Dusty (Rob) Miller of Wooster; grandchildren Linsey (Brandon) Foxx-Payne, Jared Martin, Camryn Wright, Kyle and Erica Miller; sister Marcia (Jim) Hudson of Wooster; brother-in-law Walter( Cheryl) Muller of Creston, nephew Chad (Christina) Muller and sons, his breakfast buddy Bill Hixson, his special friend and companion Shirley Wharton and his dog Austin.
Kip was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, and his nephew Brett Muller.
