Clifton E. Daugherty, 91, of Wooster, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Wooster Community Hospital.
A private family service will be officiated by Pastor Wendell Sinclair. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army at 437 South Market, Wooster, OH 44691 or the Highland Church of God at 669 West Highland Avenue, Wooster, OH 44691.
Clifton was born May 11, 1923 in Morgantown, Kentucky to Albert Estill and Lydia May {Smith} Daugherty.
He married Dorothy P. {Smith} on December 31, 1945.
Clifton worked for The Gerstenslager Company for 34 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Highland Avenue Church of God. Clifton always had a love for automobiles, operating his own auto body shop for many years.
Clifton will be deeply missed by his wife, Dorothy, of 69 years; children Cheryl Kay (Robert) Yoder of Rittman, Carol Ann (Melvin Parse) Daugherty of Olympia, WA, and Clifton Eric (Marci) Daugherty of Canton; grandchildren, Gina (Doug) Metzger, Renee Yoder, Emily Estrada;
5 great-grandchildren; sisters Margaret Gisinger, Mildred McFarland, and Ruby Mizer.
Clifton was preceded in death by his sisters Janet, Pansy Leas, Gladys Martin, Bernedda Goodrich, Ida Lou Ewing, and brothers Floyd and James H. Daugherty.
