Clyde H. Piatt, 90, of Wooster, Ohio died Saturday, May 4, 2019 at LifeCare Hospice surrounded by his loving family.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Craig Piatt officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Clyde was born February 20, 1929 in Monroe County, Ohio to Emmett and Edna {Pittman} Piatt. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a loyal and generous friend to all. Clyde had a multitude of hobbies and skills, many of which were self-taught. He was a ham radio operator for several decades, a handyman who loved to work on his cars, and an electronic enthusiast. Clyde loved food (especially pizza), traveling, going to church, and most of all spending time with his family.
Clyde worked at Cleveland Pneumatic Tool Company as a tool and dye maker. He also worked and retired as a machinist at Rubbermaid.
Clyde attended Parkview Church of Christ in Wooster and previously attended Northside Christian Church in Wadsworth.
He was married to the love of his life Evelyn {Hostettler} for 48 years until her passing in 1997. Clyde is survived by the six children they had together: Jerry (Anne) Piatt, Connie (George) Scott, Mark (Jan) Piatt, Linda (Mike) Gregory, Barb Watts, and Regina (Tim) Sweeden, as well as 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
He married Rebecca Breneman in August 1998, and is survived by her, her children Greg (Wendy) Steiner, Brenda (Jim) Stewart, Bethany (Matt) Sherrieb, and Bonnie Calcei, as well as six grandchildren.
Clyde is also survived by his brothers Millard (Wanda) Piatt, Ray (Janet) Piatt, Richard (Janice) Piatt, and David (Marlene) Piatt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evelyn, his brother Donald Piatt, his son-in-law Tim Watts, and sister-in-law Marcia Piatt.
