Cynthia Cogar

Cynthia L. Cogar, 66, of Sterling, died Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at LifeCare Hospice.

Services will be Monday at 3pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Chuck Hopkins officiating.  Friends may call one-hour prior from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at a later date at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Cynthia was born April 19, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio to Albert and Betty Joan {Zeim} Noort.

She graduated from Parma High School, and then furthered her education throughout her life.

She married Ward “Gene” Cogar on October 8, 1994.

She worked for Wayne County Board of Developmental Disabilities as a substitute. She was a member of the Orrville Church of Christ. Cynthia was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and scrapbooking.

Cynthia will be deeply missed by her husband; children Jason (Loni) Porinchok of Ottawa, Steve (Crystal) of Zanesville, Elizabeth (Greg) Riley of Mentor; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; mother of Orrville; brothers Larry (Linda) Noort of KY, Rob Noort of Hawaii, Albert Noort of TN and Stephen Noort of ID; sisters Nancy (Kent) Kimball of AZ, Kim (Mike) Barnhouse of Orrville, Cheryl Ruffner of OR, and Sandra Wilkerson of MT; and many nieces and nephews.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her father and stepmother Carol Ann Stephen.
