Dale Allan Ellis, 77, of Marietta, Ohio died July 18, 2017 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born February 2, 1940 in Marietta to Harold and Florance Ellis.
He graduated with the class of 1958. Dale attended Ohio University before joining the Navy. He worked for Monongahela Power and retired from G.E. Plastics after 33 years. He also enjoyed working at Yellowstone National Park for two summers. Dale was a member of the Evergreen Bible Church and was always there to help with projects. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling and helping others. Dale was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Dale is survived by his wife Virginia "Jenny" Ellis; daughter Donna (Byron) Folwell of Parkersburg; son Drew Ellis of Waubay, SD; stepsons Michael (Alyssa) Taylor of Littleton, MA and Mitch (Kelly) Taylor of Erie, PA; brother John (Susan) Ellis; grandchildren Morgan (Erik) Larson, Derek Ellis, Danielle Folwell; step grandchildren Hannah Taylor, Riley, Mikey and Joey Taylor, Alicia (Matt) Workman; step great grandchildren Colin, Aislynn, Jensen and Rowen Workman; special friends Brandon McCracken and BoBo.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Florance Ellis; special aunt Alice Hall Wallace; first wife Miyoko Ellis; grandparents John Carl and Hazel (Dolly) Hall
A memorial service will be held Monday, July 24 at 11 a.m. at the Evergreen Bible Church, 118 W 19th Street, Williamstown, WV 26187 where a meal prepared in his memory will follow. Entombment will be private at East Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Evergreen Bible Church.
