Dale (Pee Wee) Markham , 59, of Ashland went home to be with his Lord on Friday, February 15, 2013 at his residence. Dale was born in Ashland, Ohio to Boyd and Pauline (Weaver) Markham. He graduated from Ashland High School in 1971. Dale was employed through Custom Hoists, Inc. for 35 years.
For 43 years Dale shared the gift of being "Santa" to many big and small. He felt this was his way of ministering God's love unconditionally. Dale was an avid bowler, and enjoyed fishing, family time, singing, and most of all he was a true witness of God. He truly walked as a faithful and obedient Christian. Dale never knew a stranger and if he did he didn't hesitate to spread God's love to one another.
Dale was a loving family man who would do anything for them; he always showed unconditional love.
On November 8, 2003 Dale married his loving wife Jean (Simpson) Markham. Surviving along with his wife is his daughter and son-in-law Missy (Markham) and Jeremey Baker of Ashland, Ohio. Stepson Rob Cline of Mantua, New Jersey and granddaughter Evangeline Violet Cline of Thorofare, New Jersey. His three sisters Ruth Ann (Ronnie) Adkins of Sandusky, Ohio, Bev Kemper of Ashland, Ohio, and Janet Bright of Ashland, Ohio. One brother Billy Markham of Troutville, Virginia. Step Father Bill Shepard of Fl. Brother-in-law's Glenn (Mary) Simpson of Bear, Delaware and Mark (Tamie) Simpson of Warren, Michigan. One sister-in-law Irene (Jon) Claypool of Huntington Beach, California. Mother-in-law Flora F. Simpson of Gibbstown, New Jersey. He is also survived by nephews and nieces who looked up to him as a father figure. Dale will also be sadly missed by his other special daughter Fluffie the Cat. Dale was preceded in death by his father Boyd Markham and his mother Pauline Sheppard, and recent brother-in-law Dave Kemper who was one of his dearest friends.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday February 20th, 2013, 11:00 A.M. at the Cavalry Baptist Church 210 North Davis Road Ashland, Ohio 44805, with Pastor Harry Strachan and Pastor Joseph Carney officiating. Burial will be held at Ashland County Memorial Park following the service. Friends may call Tuesday February 19th, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Robert's Funeral Home Ashland Chapel 1058 U.S. 250 West and one hour prior at the church.
