Danny Dillon

Danny R. Dillon, 79, of Rittman, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 8, 2020, after an eight-year battle with cancer.

Friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Rittman Community Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. at the church with Pastors Johnny Castle and Ed Nichols officiating.  Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Danny was born May 12, 1941 in Cashmere, West Virginia to Ray and Ethel Pearl {Mann} Dillon.

He married the love of his life Carol Mitchell. She died September 9, 2017.

Danny worked for Barefoot Sole for many years before retiring and worked part-time for the Rittman IGA. He was a member of the Rittman Community Free Will Baptist Church. Danny enjoyed bowling in his early years and was an avid fisherman his entire life.

Danny will be deeply missed by his son Michael Dillon and two daughters Cathy (Marlin) Griffith and Vicki Heilman; grandchildren April (Chris) Nichols, Britteny, Daniel and Dillon Griffith, Amber Mote and Cheyenne (Mike) Soeder; great-granddaughters Brianna, Dani and Elizabeth Nichols, and Brooklynn and Lilyanna Soeder, who were his pride and joy; sister Dottie (Carl) Schmid; and his cat Kindle.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol, sisters Louetta Smith and Alice Carol Dillon, and granddaughter Heather Nicole Heilman.
