David G. Post, 78, of Shreve, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Fish officiating. David was born April 9, 1936 in Jefferson to LeRoy Ernshaw Sr. and Edith {Warfel} Post.
David was in the U.S. Army and served as a paratrooper in the 82nd airborne.
He married Lorita Lou (Miller) on January 10, 1959.
David retired from Wilbert in Orrville. He was an active member of Moreland United Methodist Church. David was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed following The Ohio State Buckeyes, Triway Titans, stockcar and NASCAR racing. He loved to go bowling and was with the same team for over 50 years.
David will be deeply missed by his wife, Lorita, of 55 years; children Alan Post of NC, Roger "Fudd" Post of Killbuck and Duane (Sarah) Post of Shreve; grandchildren Heidi Burgett and Bryan Post of Millersburg, Tosha Post of FL, Lee Tish and Jacob Custer of Wooster; great-grandchildren Carmen and Clint Burgett of Millersburg; niece and nephew Susan Sandidge and Gary Post of AR.
David was preceded in death by his brothers LeRoy Jr. Post and Donald Post, sister Marjorie Hoff and niece Christine Greeson.
