David Powers Robinson Sr., 88, of Smithville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 17, 2014 at his residence; surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 3 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Jamie Rickard officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 2-3 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens - Wooster. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. David was born August 25, 1925 in Buckhannon, WV to Randall Keith and Eula Florence {Morrison} Robinson.
He married Mary C. (Conrad) on October 25, 1947. She died in 2004.
David worked as a machinist for Westinghouse of Orrville for over 33 years, and retired in 1985. He was a Smithville Boy Scout Leader for 6 years.
David will be deeply missed by his children Barbara (James) Urton of Big Prairie, Susan (Garland) Jackson of Sterling, Pamela James of Miamisburg, David (Jodi) Robinson of Orrville and Lisa Uhler of Smithville; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; great-great granddaughter Nahla and sister Lillian Howell of Wooster. David was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary, of 56 years, children Roger Lee and Craig Allen, brother Osker Robison, sisters Pearl Hershberger, Ruby Markley and Lorreta Whitehair and son-in-law Jerry Uhler. The family would like to give a special thanks to Sue, Leah, Sharon, Lindsey and Bob of Hospice; and would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of LifeCare Hospice for the special care that they gave dad and his family.
