David L. Stackhouse, 80, of Ashland, died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Hospice of North Central Ohio, in Ashland, surrounded by his loving family.
David was born October 21, 1934 in Ashland to Glenn C. and Margaret A. {Summers} Stackhouse.
He married Luzetta "Ann" (Stevens) on March 14, 1954.
David retired from General Motors in Mansfield after 39 years. He was a member of Church of Christ of Ashland. David was a member of Masonic Lodge of Ashland #151, Ashland Chapter R.A.M. #67, Ashland Counsel #128 R. & S.M. and Wooster Commandery #48. He was awarded the Knight York Cross of Honor. David was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a stock car driver for many years. David was known for his love of the outdoors, you would often see him outside mowing his yard.
David will be deeply missed by his wife, Ann, of 60 years; children Robin Stackhouse of Bedford, Chris Stackhouse, Kim (Tom) Rose, and Shelly Stackhouse all of Ashland; 10 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; brother Glenn S. (Coretta) Stackhouse of Ashland; sisters Lucetta Bartley of Lucas and Glenna (John) Longwell of Ashland; his fire cat, Iriq.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Church of Christ, 1185 County Road 1356, Ashland, OH 44805. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ, with Pastor Tim Nowlin officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park in the Masonic Garden.
