David E. Workman, 82, of Wooster went to be with His Lord Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday at 11:00am at the Grace Brethren Church, Wooster, with Pastor Robert Fetterhoff officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Gideons International PO Box 140800 Nashville, Tennessee 37214-0800.
Dave was born December 9, 1928 in Grove City, Pennsylvania to Cyril and Jean Workman. He married Joan Biggs on September 6, 1953. She survives.
Dave worked as treasurer for Wooster City Schools for 30 years. After retirement he ran a courier route for First Federal and Ohio Legacy Bank. He was a veteran and served in the US Navy. He was an active member of The Gideons International and the Grace Brethren Church, Wooster. He enjoyed reading, woodworking and family times.
Dave will be deeply missed by his wife Joan; his sons Mike (Sandy) Workman, Mark (Janice) Workman, Steve (Connie) Workman, Stuart (Jody) Workman, Jeff (Mary) Workman, and Jon (Charlene) Workman; grandchildren Kyle (Megan) Workman, Heidi (Ryan) Schlotterback, Chris Workman, Erin Workman, Kaley (Tyler) Egli, Aubrey (Aaron) Spurlock, Kristen Workman, Rachel Workman, Emily Workman, Nathan (Kinsey) Workman, Jacob Workman, Kendra Workman, Derek Workman, Brianna Workman; great-grandchildren Rhett Schlotterback, Sammy Schlotterback, Adelle Schlotterback, Jacob Schlotterback, Ellie Workman, and Knox Workman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.
