Debbie Sue Baker, 58, of Wooster, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 14, 2014.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at West Hill Baptist Church at 2241 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster, OH 44691, with Pastor Dan Wingate officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to OARDC – Secrest Arboretum at 1680 Madison Avenue, Wooster, OH 44691, where Debbie loved to walk with her husband and play with her grandsons at the "Slide-Turtle-Tunnel" park.
Debbie was born July 25, 1955, in Lima to Harold Ellis and Patricia June {Matson} Smith. She graduated from Findlay High School and attended Bowling Green University.
She married Todd Baker on April 17, 1976.
She worked at Wooster Christian School and the College of Wooster. After retiring, she stayed at home as a happy mom and grandma. Debbie was a member of West Hill Baptist Church. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of her heart and tried to share His love with others in all that she did. She was an animal lover who enjoyed reading, painting, writing and bird watching. Most of all, she loved spending time with and taking care of her family. She filled the house with joy and laughter, music and dancing, and instilled a passion for life in everyone she met.
Debbie will be deeply missed by her husband, Todd, of 38 years, children David (Katrin) Baker of Mt. Vernon, Matthew (Carrie) Baker of Wooster, Katie (Casey) Cunningham of Heath; grandchildren Nathaniel and Michael Baker both of Wooster; sisters Sherry (Jeff) Blanchard of Fremont and Laurie Smith of Bethel.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents.
