Debra Matheny

Debra “Debbie” K. Matheny, 66, of Wooster, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at The Avenue, in Wooster.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Moomaw officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.

Debbie was born January 8, 1953 in Wooster, Ohio to Dominic and Conchetta {Calabria} Scale and was employed at FirstMerit Bank for over 25 years, retiring in 2015. She spent her retirement years working part-time at Subway, where she made many friends.

Debbie’s courage, determination, and perseverance were an inspiration to others as she battled cancer. Those who loved her will remember her contagious laughter and quick wit. Debbie’s kind spirit and smile brought joy to those who knew her.

She will be deeply missed by her sons Shawn (Becky) Matheny of North Canton and Andrew (Leslie) Matheny of Delaware; grandchildren Brooklyn, Taylor, Kaylie, Mason and Cameron.

The family would like to thank the many friends that offered support to Debbie as she battled cancer over the last year. Additionally, a special thank you to LifeCare Hospice and The Avenue staff for the care they provided during her final weeks of life.
