Dennis "Dancin' Denny" Oliver Messmore, 70, of Norton, died Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Hospice of VNS Care Center, in Akron.
Denny was born October 5, 1946 in Lodi to Oliver and Dorothea {McInerney} Messmore.
He graduated from Northwestern High school in West Salem. Denny served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Vietnam War.
Denny was the first club pro at Mohican Hills Golf Club for over 10 years. He was a member of the Orioles, VFW, Eagles and the American Legion of Wadsworth. Denny enjoyed playing and teaching golf, listening to music, fishing and bowling.
Denny will be deeply missed by his children Tabitha (Evan) Martin of Norton, Jennica Messmore and Greg Messmore both of Akron; grandchildren Malcolm Felix, Elric Trumphour, Nathan Messmore and Jade Martin; sisters Patricia Whitt of Colorado, Barbara Sherwin of Wadsworth and Iletha (Rod) Poolman of Marcellus, MI.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be Monday, June 19th at 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville where military rites will be held.
