Dolores Ackerman

Dolores June Ackerman, 83, of Orville, died Monday, April 20, 2015. Dolores was born June 26, 1931 to Harold and Myrtle Ackerman. She was raised by her loving stepmother Genevieve. Dolores graduated from Wooster High School in 1949 and studied piano and voice at the Wooster Conservatory of Music. She worked for many years at the Glidden Company, retiring in 1993. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Church of Christ.
She lived with her best friend Jenny Hoyman for 50 years until her passing 10 years ago.
Dolores will be missed by her nephews Jeff Ackerman and Bill Walmer; nieces Dolores "Dee" (Don) Nelson, Kathi (Hobie) Bond and Dori (Mike) Doerfler; 9 great nieces and nephews; and 5 great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Edwin Joseph Ackerman and sister Roberta Jean Walmer.
