Donald "D.J." Korecky, 88, of Seville, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at The Avenue of Medina.
Donald was born June 29, 1927 in Cleveland to James and Regina {Golbinski} Korecky.
D.J. served in the United States Navy for four years.
He married Catherine {Crevda} on June 21, 1975.
D.J. worked as a banker for more than 37 years before retiring in 1983. He enjoyed bowling, working in the yard, and detailing his cars. D.J.'s favorite pastime was watching football and baseball. He loved big band music and spending time with his family, especially during vacations. D.J.'s favorite vacation spot was in Colorado, where he enjoyed hiking and spending time outdoors.
Donald will be deeply missed by his wife of 40 years; children Laurel Eberhard of Mayfield Heights, Dale (Cyndra) Korecky of Brunswick, stepdaughter Cynthia (Craig) Pasquali of Madison; grandchildren Jennifer (Dan) Brammer, Ashley (Nate) Phillips, Ryan (Victoria) Korecky; great-granddaughter Emersyn Korecky.
Donald was preceded in death by his sister Dolores and his parents.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Anthony Sejba officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.
