Donald E. Palmer, 92, of Wooster, died May 7, 2014 at Danbury Woods, in Wooster.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Frank Carl officiating. Donald was born May 19, 1921 in Cleveland to Donald B. and Eleanor {Pope} Palmer.
He served in the United States Army during World War II. He received his Masters Degree at The Ohio State University. He was a teacher with Wooster City Schools for 15 years, retiring in 1980. He had also taught in VanWert, Columbus and Westminster, California.
He married Ruth L. North on November 7, 1953. She passed away in 2002.
Donald was a member of the Wayne County Republican Executive Committee and was a proud supporter of the College of Wooster football and basketball teams.
Donald will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth and his brother James.
