Donald William Swaisgood

Donald William Swaisgood, 94, of Polk, died Saturday March 23, 2024 at his home after a short illness.

Don was born January 9, 1930 in Ashland, Ohio to Ray and Jennie {Morr} Swaisgood.

He married Pauline Dickinson on November 4, 1949.  

Don was a farmer for many years, then retired from F.E. Myers Co. after 25 years. He attended the Ashland Grace Church for many years, he was strong in his faith and someone you could always look up to. Don and Pauline had devotions in their house every night. Don took motorcycle trips, loved working 1000 piece puzzles, and tinkering around on the farm.

Don will be deeply missed by his wife Pauline of 74 years; daughter Paula (Daniel) Ames of Ashland; son Bruce (Sandy) Swaisgood of Polk; grandchildren Tina (Bob) Yarger, Beth Clark, Barbara (Tyson) Krebs, Kayla (Chris) Berry, Kelsey (Josh) Coffy; great-grandchildren Jaxon and Alayna Yarger, Aeris and Shire Krebs, and Angela and Alexa Berry; and brother Harold Swaisgood of San Diego, CA.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, son Andy Swaisgood, brothers Raymond and Robert Swaisgood, and sister Mildred Dudte.

Friends may call Thursday March 28 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland.  Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Donald-Swaisgood) with Pastor Dan Jackson officiating.
