Donald Troyer Sr
October 10, 1934 — August 17, 2014
Donald W. Troyer Sr., 79, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, August 17, 2014.
Memorial services will be Wed. at 5 p.m. at Crown Hill Mennonite Church. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wed. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray medical expenses.
Donald was born October 10, 1934 in Apple Creek to Henry and Orpha {McAfee} Troyer.
He graduated from Chester High School and was in the last class to graduate from there. Donald was in the National Guard.
He married Nancy Lance on December 29, 1957.
Donald had his own trucking business and was a diesel mechanic. He belonged to Wooster Four Square. He was a private pilot and enjoyed flying his own plane and belonged to the Lions Club. He collected eagles.
Donald will be deeply missed by his wife Nancy; children Deby (Larry) Welty of Michigan, Donald W. "Bill" (Lisa) Troyer Jr. of North Carolina, Stephen Troyer of Creston; grandchildren Dustin (Brandy) Welty, Nic (Jen) Welty, Michael (Brittany) Troyer, Ashley (Austin) Konetski, Kate Troyer, Allison Troyer; great-grandchildren Avery, Janelle, William, Levi; sisters Mae Yoder, and Pauline Yutzy.
Donald was preceeded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
