Donna Richards

Donna Jean Richards, 86, of New London, died Thursday, August 5, 2021, at The Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Ashland.

Donna was born May 4, 1935, in Parkersburg, West Virginia to William T. and Carrie V. {Merrill} Parks.

She graduated from Harrisville High School in 1953.

She married Cecil Ray Richards on August 20, 1955. He passed away on March 21, 2015.

Donna was a seamstress at C. E. Ward’s robe company.  She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and previously Prosperity Baptist Church in Big Springs, West Virginia.  She loved reading, playing piano, gardening, antiquing, but most importantly being with family.

Donna will be deeply missed by her children Cecil Richards Jr., and Teresa (Eddie) Campbell; grandchildren Erica (Mike) Cooke, Elizabeth Gilman, Emerald (Chris) Stackhouse, Terri Mae (Mike) Patterson, and Nicole Richards; great-grandchildren Camryn, Alayna, Ian, Chloé, Eleanor, Clark, Michael Jr., and Ryker; brother Robert (Karen) Parks;  sisters Loretta Stanley, Virginia (William) Boswell; Eva Snyder; Carolyn Fulper; and Sue (Cliff) Weese; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin brother Donald Parks; and brothers Bill, Jim, and Charles Parks.

Friends may call Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 at the funeral home with Pastor John Bouquet officiating.
