Donna Schmid

Donna J. Schmid, 89, of Kissimmee, FL, formerly of Wooster, died October 9, 2019 at Orlando Regional Medical Center, in Orlando, Florida.

Memorial services will be October 29, 2019 at 4 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Wooster with Pastor Keith Walbolt (grandson-in-law) of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Seminole, FL, officiating.  Entombment took place at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Donna was born November 2, 1929, in Wooster, Ohio to Francis A. and Golda {Haven} Franks. She married Wayne Blair Schmid on January 27, 1950.  He preceded her in death on December 7, 2014.

She worked at the Wooster Brush Company and Northwestern High School

for many years. She enjoyed quilting, reading and working with flowers.  She was a member of the National, state and county DAR and was a past Regent. She belonged to the garden club, genealogical society, the Grange, and the Wayne County Historical Society.  She belonged to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School and Bible School.

Surviving are her daughters, Ruth (Roger) Blumer of Fort Wayne, IN, Sarah (Brent) Trauger of Kissimmee, FL, and Martha Jane (George) Axiotis of Arlington, VA and Hollywood, FL, grandchildren, Rachel (Randy) Hale, Laurel (Daniel) McDonald, Leslie (Keith) Walbolt,  Michael Scott (Amanda) Trauger, Constance Blair Axiotis and Georgia Elaine Axiotis; and six great-grandchildren.  She was preceded by a sister, Frances Cox and a brother, Donald Franks and her parents.
