Dora P. Brenstuhl

Dora P. Brenstuhl was born in Akron, Ohio on December 21, 1923, and died on October 11, 2024 at her home surrounded by family and friends.

Dora is survived by her sister, Marion Spradlin, and many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Brenstuhl; parents Vier and Elizabeth Oaks; brothers Glen and Dean Oaks; and sisters, Alice Dilworth and Irma Lancaster.

Dora earned her claim to fame as American men fought in World War II and American women built the machinery necessary to win the war. Dora worked in the riveting department at the B.F. Goodrich Company in Akron. Thus, Dora was among the amazing women of her generation known as “Rosie the Riveter”

She Married Frank Brenstuhl and together they built their home in Sharon Center. Dora was a homemaker and did not have any children, but often cared for the children of others and loved each of them as her own.

Dora was an affectionate, kind, soft-spoken woman who was loved by all who knew her. Dora showed her love each Christmas by making an enormous batch of cheeseballs. For well over 50 Christmases, family and friends received these treasured, holiday treats.

Dora’s 100th birthday was a joy-filled celebration attended by 100 people at the Sharon Center Town Hall. After she turned 100, Dora loved telling people her age by the years plus the months. She was telling all who visited that she was “100 years and 9 months old!”

Friends may call Friday October 18, 2024 from 11 to 12 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will be follow at 12 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
