Dorla Miller Sayre

Dorla L. Miller Sayre, 86, of Marietta, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at The Arbors of Marietta.

Dorla was born December 1, 1931 in Marietta to Wm. Harold and Norma {VanWey} Milam.

She attended Marietta Schools.

She married Gene Sayre in June of 1989.

She worked many places as a cook, including the Marietta Convalescence Center, Pasttime Pizza and Tally Ho/Keg Room. She was a member of Pleasant Hills United Methodist Church. She liked family gatherings, rides in the country and enjoyed listening to live music. Dorla also liked feeding wild deer in her yard and watching westerns on TV.

Dorla will be deeply missed by her children Betty (Bill) Boswell of Marietta, Dennis (Sarah) Miller of Marietta, Gary (Cindy) Miller of Fairfield, OH, George “Joey” (Marsha) Miller of Marietta, OH, and David (Pam) Miller of Hayesville, KS; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; sisters Brenda Schultheis and Lora June McKnight; step-children Gene (Judy) Sayre, Jr., James (Cathi) Sayre and Cheryl (Gene) McCain.

Dorla was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene Sayre Sr., her son Bill Miller, daughter Cheryl Sturm, brothers Raymond Milam and Ronald Milam.

Friends may call Sunday, April 22 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta.  Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev.
