Dorothy J Bowman

Dorothy Jean Bowman, 75, of Wooster, passed away Tuesday February 21, 2023, at Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare in Wooster.

Dorothy was born October 6, 1947, in Wooster to Emerson and Pearl {Younker} Leatherman. She married David Bowman on October 18, 1969. 

She worked for Frito Lay for several years and after the birth of her daughter, Shelly, became a full-time homemaker. She was a member of Wadsworth Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, ceramics, canning, reading, and doing woodworking with David. Dorothy also loved animals.

Dorothy will be deeply missed by her husband, David; daughter Shelly Bowman of Wooster; sisters Donna Canter and Linda (Donald) Schar all of Sterling.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Warren Leatherman.

Services will be Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 3:30 pm at Wooster Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Akron Rd. with Tom Johnson officiating. Friends may call 30 minutes prior to the service at the Hall. Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is assisting with arrangements. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
