Dorothy Mae Howell, 83, of Wooster, died Sunday, August 16, 2015 at LifeCare Hospice, in Wooster.
Services will be Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Kirk Fairhurst officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 5 p.m. before the service. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd, Wooster, Ohio 44691.
Dorothy was born June 14, 1932 in Warwick, Ohio to George and Isabel {Tatgenhorst} Shane.
Dorothy attended Wooster High School.
She married Jack Howell on March 2, 1953.
Dorothy worked at SurgiMedics in Orrville for 23 years, before retiring in 1995. She enjoyed eating out, playing cards, and spending time with her family. Dorothy loved to shop for gifts for others.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by her children Diane (Loren) Shoup of Mt. Eaton, Debra (Ron) Smith of Wooster, Cynthia Howell of Wooster, Brian (Becky) Howell of Eleanor, WV, and Amy Ickes of Mansfield; grandchildren Bambi (Joe) Schaefer, Nick Howell, Rachel (Jeremy) Windom, Joel Ickes, Cory Shoup; step-grandchildren Melanie (Bill) Hardwick, "Bud" Skinner, Matt (Lisa) Shoup, and Alicia Whalen; 7 great-grandchildren; 9 step great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, two brothers and one half brother.
