Dorothy A. Vekas, 78, died December 18, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born in Oakland, MD. on December 9, 1938. Dorothy married Charles Vekas in June of 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio.
She was a Den Mother and Camp Leader for Boy Scouts for many years, among her hobbies she loved cooking and baking, painting, bird watching, sewing, gardening and canning. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Surviving Dorothy is her loving husband of sixty years, Charles; children, Steven (Kelly) Vekas of Collins, OH, Cindy (Randy) Althaus of Wayne, OH, Tammy (Frank) Bulman of Gatlinburg, TN. Grandchildren; Joe and Tim Vekas, Sunshine Vekas, Jeremy Graham, Brandon and Josh Althaus, Misty Gibson, Steven and Kathy Bulman. Eight great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.
Proceeded in death by her son, Chucky, her parents, Joseph and Mildred Taylor, two brothers and two sisters,
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date on the family farm in Stockport, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Roberts Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
