Duane Franklyn Cogswell, 86, of Wooster, died May 6, 2013 at his residence.
Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 10 a.m., where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
Duane was born January 19, 1927 in Medina, Ohio to Frank and Mary {Godfry} Cogswell. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Duane retired from Tuslaw Local School District in 1992, after 38 years of service. He was a member of First Lutheran of Massillon. Duane graduated from Kent State University. He enjoyed woodworking, going for rides and people watching on the porch with his dog Rosie.
Duane will be deeply missed by his children, Lisa McCoy of Berrien Springs, MI and Chris Cogswell of Canton and his caregiver Deb Sidle of Wooster.
Duane was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Christopher Cogswell: his brother, Roger Cogswell; and his sister, Doreen Gilsdorf.
