Duane E. Steiner

Duane E. Steiner, 72, of Wooster, entered the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, with his family by his side.

Duane was born July 25, 1951, in Dalton to Nathan and Bertha A. {Neuenschwander} Steiner. He met Annetta “Annette” Stauffer while he was a hospital orderly in Lancaster, PA in 1970; they married on November 6, 1971. She survives.

Duane enjoyed looking at contrails as a child and became a self-employed pilot for 33 years. He was a regular attender of Wooster Bible Church. Duane enjoyed camping, flying, and playing with kids.

Duane will be deeply missed by his wife, Annette; children Jason (Heather Hobeck) Steiner of Glendale, AZ, Julie (Dan Ellerbroek) Steiner of Philadelphia, PA, Loren Steiner of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers Ernest (Loraine Leinbach), Lloyd (Susan Steiner) Steiner, Maurice (Marion Hoover) Steiner; sister Marilyn (Merle) Amstutz, brother-in-law Larry H. (Emma Coblentz) Miller.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, brother Delvin R. Steiner and sister Evelyn Miller and Ethel I. Steiner.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 am at Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Joe Silvestri officiating. A live stream will be available (below) for those not able to attend.
